The DOWN EAST ALERS are proud to announce our 2018 SUMMER SIZZLER homebrew competition will again be held on Saturday, June 9 at the American Legion Post 39 at 403 St. Andrews Drive in Greenville, NC. The Summer Sizzler is an AHA registered and sanctioned competition and is part of the Southeastern Homebrewers Association competition circuit. As a small club, we need judges and stewards to help us provide quality judging and feedback, so please register. We will make every effort to house out of town judges. Registration for judges & stewards is open immediately. Registration for entries opens on April 1 and closes on May 25. All entries must be shipped to our cellarmaster by May 26 or hand-carried to drop-off locations on May 25 for pickup on May 26. The 2018 Summer Sizzlers is beer only...no meads or ciders. The Summer Sizzler cap is 200 entries. The max # entries per person is 12. Judges & Stewards should be at the comp site at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 9.
The Best of Show beer will be brewed at Pitt Street Brewing in Greenville.

- Entries can be hand carried and dropped off at shipping location(s) specified below
- Entries must be shipped to shipping location(s) specified below
- No entries accepted on day of competition
- 2 - 12oz bottles for each entry
- Bottles should be free from identifying marks such as raised lettering on the bottle
- Bottle caps must be free of writing or label. If cap has writing or label, it should be blacked out by a black marker prior to entry
- Judges and Stewards will earn BJCP experience points.
- Bottle labels should be securely affixed with a rubber band.
- Entries can be hand carried and dropped off at one of the drop off location(s) specified below
